The convention accomplished its two purposes:

Selected 164 delegates (121 by precinct caucuses and 43 at large) and 163 alternate delegates (64 by precinct caucuses and 79 at large) to represent Senatorial District 14 at the Republican State Convention in Houston on June 12, 13, & 14. For a list click here.

Adopted a Platform of Resolutions. This Platform has been forwarded to the Resolutions Committee at the Republican State Convention for consideration. For the Platform adopted by the SD 14 Convention, click here.
Also, delegates heard from many excellent Republican elected officials and candidates, from Governor Rick Perry to Constable Bob Vann.

Arrangements -- arranged the site of the pre convention meetings and the convention site (Peggy Bower, Chairman).
Registration -- provided credentials to the 850+ delegates and alternates in attendance (Olga Rivera Lasher, Chairman).
Pages -- provided assistance to convention officers and committees (Donna Harp and Kandy Johnson, Chairmen).
Credentials -- heard contests concerning delegates and recommended the permanent roll of the convention (Dan McDonald, Chairman). (View the Credentials Report as adopted by the convention.)
Rules -- drafted supplementary rules for the convention (Travis Brewer, Esq, Chairman). (View the 2008 Committee Report adopted by the Convention including the allocation of maximum delegates to be elected by precinct caucuses.)
Organization -- nominated permanent officers for the Convention (Kirk Overbey, PRP, Chairman).
Nominations -- created a preliminary list of at-large delegates and alternate delegates to the Republican State Convention in Houston ( June 12, 13, & 14). The committee took testimony for three evenings prior to and at the Convention from anyone wishing to be considered for an at-large slot (Davida Stike, Chairman) and nominated
Resolutions -- drafted a recommended platform of resolutions. The committee considered all resolutions passed by the precinct conventions.
